  • Stimulate critical thinking and promote dialogue on key issues central to science and religion.
  • Create and support interdisciplinary research and publication.
  • Sponsor workshops, seminars, lectures, and other educational events both on and off-campus.
  • Establish a mechanism for strengthening Christian faith and scientific understanding.
  • Supervise an undergraduate major in science and religion and recruit high-caliber students.
  • Seek grants and other funding to support Center objectives.

Samford Professor Receives Grant to Research Christian Trust in Science
Samford University’s Director of the Center for Science and Religion, Josh Reeves, received a grant from the Templeton Religion Trust for his research project "Trusting God and Trusting Science." The study aims to investigate skepticism towards scientific findings within Christian groups and to identify potential solutions to bridge this trust gap.

Science and religion professor Josh Reeves has earned a grant from the TheoPsych project at Fuller Theological Seminar, which seeks new insights concerning human nature by bringing together psychological science with relevant theological inquiry.
